Congress Must Investigate The President

flynn-putin-stein

General Michael Flynn, the President’s national security adviser, has resigned. In light of the actions by Flynn and the new Republican administration leading up to this resignation, The Democratic Road joins with New York Democratic Congressman, Jerrold Nadler, who has called for the House Judiciary Committee to begin investigations,

“Into President Trump and his associates’ conflicts of interest, ethical violations—including the Emoluments Clause—and Russia ties.”

The Nadler resolution is an attempt to force the hand of House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Republican Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, as well as other Congressional Republicans.  They have shown little interest to date in beginning investigations into the troubling business and foreign interests of the new administration. The road to removal of the 45th President of the United States travels through the United States Senate following the passage of Articles of Impeachment by the United States House of Representatives. Therefore, the House Judiciary Committee, as well as other House Committees, must be encouraged to investigate so as to develop the evidence needed for the passage of Articles of Impeachment.

The private citizen, Michael Flynn, was a paid speaker at the 10th anniversary dinner for Russia Today on December 10, 2015, in Moscow, where he was seated at a table next to Vladimir Putin. Flynn and his consulting firm had been providing services for Turkish interests while he was advising the Trump campaign on foreign affairs and after he was formally named the President elect’s national security adviser on November 18, 2016.

We the people already have seen enough. It is imperative that we become the catalyst that will help Congressman Nadler and others start the process for impeachment. We can do this by calling the Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee to tell them that we want investigations into the President’s potential business conflicts, ethical violations, and his, along with his staffs’s, ties with Russia. We can also send postcards to the Republican members of the Judiciary Committee indicating our support  for investigations into the President’s conduct and the conduct of his staff. Hopefully, Congressional Republicans will begin to see the light and do what they must do to protect our country and our world.

A peaceful movement is growing. We believe the time has come for all of us as patriotic and concerned Americans and citizens of the world, to take up the cause of motivating Congress to act before the growing damage resulting from the last election becomes irreparable. Here is general switchboard number for Congress in Washington, D.C. to call then go through the prompts, so that you can then leave your messages for the Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee.
