There is good reason to suspect that the long developing cozy relationship between Russia and associates of the our new President’s campaign did not only help the Republican candidate, but also included assistance to the Green Party candidate, Jill Stein, and Secretary Hillary Clinton’s main rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Senator Bernie Sanders. More and more it appears that the Independent Socialist Senator from Vermont may have been the recipient of both Republican and Russian assistance as the primary challenger to the presumed Democratic nominee, in order to weaken if not defeat Hillary Clinton. Here is a look at Bernie and his mirror images who had similar reflections on our 2016 election.
First and foremost, is the obvious reflection on Tad Devine, the Sanders senior adviser and director of advertising. Mr. Devine worked in the Ukraine for the same pro-Russian political figures as did Paul Manafort. Manafort, the second campaign manager for the 2016 Republican candidate, first went to work for Ukrainian politician, Viktor Yanukovych, in 2005. Manafort is believed to have continued to work for Yanukovych, and other Ukrainian politicians, through 2015.
Tad Devine knew the Republican nominee’s,
“Campaign chairman Paul Manafort from, among other things, their collaboration on the campaign of ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.”
The relationship between Devine, Manafort and Yanukovych lasted from 2006 through 2010. Therefore, the possibility exists that the former colleagues, Devine and Manafort, may have shared information and assistance that came through Russia in 2015 and 2016.
BuzzFeed has published what was alleged to be the 35 page “Steele Dossier”, detailing the claimed assistance the new Republican President’s campaign received from Russia during the 2016 election cycle. According to the Steele Dossier,
“The Kremlin had been feeding Trump and his team valuable intelligence on his opponents, including Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, for several years.”
The Steele Dossier suggests that prior to the time of the Republican National Convention in late July, 2016, a well developed cooperative relationship existed between the soon to be Republican nominee and Russia, for the purpose of defeating Hillary Clinton, managed by,
“Campaign manager, Paul Manafort, who was using foreign policy adviser, Carter Page, and others as intermediaries.”
The Steele Dossier points to a July, 2016 meeting in Moscow between Carter Page and senior members representing the government of the pro-Russian former Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovych. According to the very latest reporting by BuzzFeed, Carter Page began his relationship with Russian intelligence beginning January, 2013 in New York City, lured by the prospect of Gazprom fuel company wealth.
The mirror of collusion also reflects upon Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, who attended the same December 10, 2105 dinner in Moscow honoring RT that General Michael Flynn attended as a paid speaker. Stein sat at a table with Vladimir Putin and Michael Flynn. The Steele Dossier seems to have been correct that the Kremlin was,
“Engaging with several high profile US players including Stein, Page, and former DIA director, Michael Flynn, and funding their recent visits to Moscow.”
Reports that the FBI knew of attempts to hack the DNC surfaced in September of 2015. Curiously, eight days after the RT Moscow dinner, it came to light that Bernie Sanders’ staffers had entered the DNC computer system without authorization, taking the Clinton campaign’s proprietary voter database. Is it possible that someone attending that RT dinner in Moscow, turned over the keys to breaching the DNC computer system to the Sanders campaign?
The December 10, 2015 RT Moscow dinner invitation appears to be the start of a series of mutually beneficial happenings running between Stein and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. Stein was criticized by the Russian Green Party activist who accused Stein,
“Of neglecting their struggle, after a series of statements she made, calling for closer cooperation with the Kremlin at a dinner with Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
RT, the Russian state propaganda outlet broadcasting in the United States, returned the favor by hosting the Green Party debate, starring Jill Stein, on May 9, 2016. Stein returned that favor in a September 14, 2016 interview with Vox, denouncing the United States and NATO, saying that,
“I think we need to be clear about NATO’s role, especially in creating a more dangerous world right now. Where NATO has been surrounding Russia with missiles, nuclear weapons, and troops.”
Jill Stein was echoing the same sentiments of the Republican nominee towards NATO, as he has called for NATO to stop directing attention toward defense of Europe from Russia, to fighting terrorism and ISIS. This was spun by RT as the new Republican President wanting to fight ISIS with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.
The mirror reflects through the internet and “an army of well paid trolls”, initially discovered in June of 2015, transformed into an army of trolls posing as American Conservatives, that surfaced in July, 2016. This corresponds in time to the Republican National Convention in late July, 2016. The Steele dossier confirms the targeting of younger, educated, American voters, who formed the base of the Bernie Sanders constituency, in hope of flipping them to the Republican candidate.
It has been reported that the majority of the likes, 58%, that the Republican candidate, and now President, has on his Facebook, come from profiles outside the United States. From May through October, an army of profiles, some 40% from Albania and Macedonia, were seen taking over Bernie Sanders Facebook groups. These foreign sourced profiles inundated the group with fake, foreign sourced anti- Hillary Clinton material while also claiming to be,
“Sanders fans who had decided to vote for GOP nominee Donald Trump or Green Party candidate Jill Stein in the general election and tried to convince others to do likewise.”
These tactics have recently been supported through testimony on March 30, 2017, by former FBI agent, Clint Watts, to the Senate Intelligence Committee. According to Agent Watts, some 1,000 paid Russian trolls spreading anti HRC fake news by computer on social media, helped the Republican candidate. Agent Watts testified that,
“Through the end of 2015 and the start of 2016, the Russian-influenced system began to push themes and messages seeking to influence the result of the presidential election.”
Writing for The Daily Beast on March 30, 2017, Watts said that,
“Russian overt media outlets and covert trolls sought to sideline opponents on both sides of the political spectrum with adverse views towards the Kremlin,”
“They were in full swing during both the Republican and Democratic primary season, and may have helped sink the hopes of candidates more hostile to Russian interests long before the field narrowed.”
If these foreign trolls intended to hurt candidate Clinton, they necessarily must have helped candidates like Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein, and Gary Johnson, drawing votes that might have otherwise had gone to Hillary Clinton. An important side benefit going to the Republican candidate and his team, according to the Steele Dossier, was the,
“Substance included offer of large stake in Roseneft in return for lifting sanctions on Russia. PAGE confirms this is TRUMP’s intention.”
Roseneft is part of the Russian state owned fossil fuel company, Gazprom, the source of Putin and his associates’ wealth.
The Steele Dossier alleges that members of the campaign team and Russian intelligence had been exchanging information for eight years or more prior to 2016. Clearly, there was a well thought out and detailed plan to make certain that President Obama’s successor would not be a Democrat.
The mirror reflects back on candidate Sanders before and after the November 2016 election. Whether he knows it or not, Bernie Sanders has an organization called Really American, currently working for him that,
“Helps concerned citizens defend truth, democracy, social justice and the environment against the corruption, fraud and lies that Bernie Sanders exposed to the American public during the 2016 presidential election.”
Really American through actionsprout.io, spreads a series of oddly worded petitions appearing to be supportive of Bernie-backed issues such as the Dakota Access Pipe Line or getting Congress to support Bernie’s plan to boost Social Security. Really American working with ActionSprout, an internet web host, offers websites with the “io” domain extension located in the British Indian Ocean Territories. For a $9 to $99 per month fee,
ActionSprout helps non-profits make Facebook work for their mission. From growing fan engagement to increasing email sign-ups and fundraising, ActionSprout takes the mystery out of Facebook.”
Republican candidate seemed to relish in the Wikileaks releases that hurt candidate Clinton. Five days after the Wikileaks release of the DNC emails, the candidate, on July 27, 2016, encouraged Russia to do more, saying,
“I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,”
Soon after Wikileaks released the DNC emails, RT was there supporting Sanders reporting that the Republican nominee was saying that the DNC wasn’t being fair to poor Bernie.
Roger Stone, an acknowledged adviser and longtime friend of both the Republican candidate and campaign manager two, Paul Manafort, also seemed to be able to predict Wikileaks releases. Wikileaks began releasing emails stolen from Clinton campaign Chairman, John Podesta, on October 7, 2016. Roger Stone had tweeted on August 21, 2016,
“Trust me, it will soon be Podesta’s time in the barrel.”
Mr. Stone had confirmed in an August 8, 2016 speech that he had been communicating with Wikileaks publisher, Julian Assange. Stone has also admitted to having twitter contact with Guccifer 2.0, the Russian linked hacker and presumed source of the DNC and Podesta hacks, who provided the DNC emails to Wikileaks for timed distribution during the 2016 election.
There was the “I love Wikileaks” comment by the Republican candidate on October 10, 2016, during the week long Wikileaks release of the Podesta emails.
October 7, 2016, the date the Podesta emails started coming out, was also the date of the joint statement by the United States government, confirming the fact of the Russian intervention into the 2016 election.
These Wikileaks email releases were clearly timed to tear down Clinton, by spreading the false claims moving voters who were sympathetic to Sanders away from Clinton.
The Steel Dossier said that,
“Anti-Clinton hackers and other operatives paid by both TRUMP team and Kremlin.”
This statement appears to have been accurate and it seems that the intended beneficiary of the operations were not just the Republican candidate.
The mirror reflects a mutually beneficial agreement between the Republican candidate and the failed Sanders campaign. The Republican candidate appeared to be sympathetic and helpful towards the dead in the water Sanders campaign. A mutual admiration and assistance society clearly existed between Sanders and the Republican candidate, now 45th President of the United States, before and after the party national conventions.
Consider that in April, 2016, the Republican candidate said that Sanders wasn’t being treated fairly by the Democrats and that he should run as an independent. Also in April, 2016, obviously predicting that Clinton would be the Democratic nominee, the Republican candidate said that he would use much of Bernie’s repertoire against Hillary. He did exactly that and in late April of 2016, the Republican candidate confirmed that,
“I’m going to be taking a lot of the things that Bernie said and using them.”
He followed that up in May of 2016, by thanking Sanders for the anti-Clinton ammunition.
Following the election, Sanders, who had referred to Hillary Clinton as unqualified for the presidency, called the new President-elect,
“A very smart person who loves this country.”
After the 2016 United States election, Russian state news outlets turned their attention to publishing fake reports on the polls in France. In April, 2016, when Sanders was clearly behind Clinton and the race between the two was all but over, RT was publishing stories claiming that,
“Sanders now leading Clinton in national poll ahead of Vatican visit.”
In late May of 2016, when Clinton had clearly locked up the nomination, RT was proclaiming that a,
“New poll shows Trump beating Clinton in general election.”
Sanders at the time was was appearing on the RT sponsored Ed Schultz program, proclaiming that the polls showed that he was the stronger candidate against the soon to be Republican candidate. It is widely believed that if Sanders somehow won the Democratic nomination and got to the general election in November,
Like the new Republican President, the public never saw a complete history of Bernie’s tax records. Perhaps this would have blown up his image of a working class hero despite the reality that his income puts hm into the top 4% of Americans. The refusal by both to show their complete tax histories is suggestive of not wanting us to see something, perhaps the extent of foreign investments and debt or possible dealings with certain foreign actors or criminals at home and abroad.
While the flames of investigations grow, which may consume this new presidency, the new President threatens to campaign against certain members of the Republican Congress. Meanwhile, Senator Sanders is busy campaigning against the party that he sought to lead just last summer, he is also supporting the voters who elected this new Republic President.
Evidence continues to pile up pointing to the conclusion that because of the attacks on Secretary Clinton, along with the assistance to other candidates coming from abroad, votes that would have otherwise have gone to Clinton were redirected to Jill Stein and Gary Johnson. These redirected votes provided the Republican candidate with the margin of victory in the November general election. Smart political strategy does dictate propping up the weaker candidate in the opposing party’s nominating process, but what we saw from the Republicans went well beyond the norm. Was there also some sort cooperation and collusion with the Sanders campaign?
Jill Stein clearly appears to be ripe as a target by federal investigators for possible collusion with Russia. The circumstantial evidence also points to the involvement of the Sanders campaign. If the Sanders campaign was in fact colluding with the Russians, the questions are what did candidate Sanders know and when did he know it? As the sordid tale that was the 2016 presidential election unfolds, we see that Bernie and his mirror images appear to be the new Republican President, his associates, and Vladimir Putin.
